About 10 years ago I moved to “SebastaRosa” (the in-between Sebastopol n Santa Rosa) and made friends with two people from separate arenas of my life. Over the years I photographed and firedanced with Jenna. Over the years I photographed Marc on his motorcycles (once for the cover of Ironhorse magazine and then the bike design won a national award!). Then one day years later, I found out that they were together! Who knew I would someday watch these two creatively merge!… a perfect match with a little Aries baby on the way this Year of the Dragon 2012…. If anyone were gonna have this kid, it would be Marc and Jenna! <3…. here are a few from our shoot. (if you wanna see “more” of Jenna, you’ll have to peruse my website!)

Josselyn and Pablo are one of the most striking couples, well yes in looks of course, but also in personality! I felt so honored that they chose to fly me down for such a special affair. They took me in like family and I enjoyed 3 days of their wedding bliss!

Josselyn has a deep spiritual thirst for and connection to the divine. She is a guardian of ritual, magic, portals and has an ability to bring people together for a cause. While Josselyn is more extroverted, she has found refuge in Pablo’s deep calm. She calls him her “Buddha”. I immediately understood their connection when I caught sight of his committed adornments~ a beautiful Pheonix tattoo and also a Japanese style Pisces fish coupled on his arm (his mother is a Pisces). Josselyn, a creature of the mystical just might have actually been an Egyption priestess in a past life. I say this because she indeed carried off a queen-like presence, and the two appeared from the sunset sky like a royal couple bringing together a marriage between continents, a union of the time/space continuum , culture and spirit. On this portal day of 11.11.11, there couldn’t have been a more perfect match!

Hayes Mansion and St Joseph’s Cathedral Basilica ~ Deepa and Powell

There’s nothing more ravishing for a photographer than a multicultural wedding! Deepa in her vintage wedding dress, traditionally and elegantly white (reminded me of the recent royal wedding!) processioning through the grandeur of St Joseph’s Cathedral Basilica, and Powell finely dashing in his white bow-tie and sharp tux together were fit for a ball. And after a surprisingly delightful and thoughtful sermon by a well humored priest the regal looking couple switched gears for an Indian affair ~ A colorful extravaganza at the Hayes Mansion where all let loose on the dance floor! Throughout the toasts I watched these love birds gaze with respect, love and appreciation dotingly at one another. The images tell it all!

It’s rare that I post non-photography articles. In fact this is my first time. Seeing as how I’m a wedding photographer, it seems that encouraging couples to work wisely through the the natural challenges that occur in life would be a good idea. Sikh Indian Wedding at Beautiful Indo-Persion ‘Gurdwara Sahib’

San Jose Sikh Temple Gurdwara Sahib created a perfect atmosphere for Indian wedding couple, Suneet and Preet, with its unique Indo-Persian architecture and onion domes. Tall archways and cooling fountains toned down the heat of Mount Diablo for this gorgeous array of colorful participants. The Scottish Rite Temple soothed the heat of the day with cooling Lake Merritt set amidst a booming array of blooms.

Brigit Loves Lobster! An Australian Wedding. …in Sonoma

It was love at first write. Brigit began her online journey around the world in search of the perfect redhead. Her friends know her as a woman who gets what she wants. And so for Brigit, her fantasy was supported by a simple truth held in her mind that she just needed to find the right dating site in the right country to harness that elusive “creature” in the sea and fulfill the destiny she felt in her heart. It was not a matter of if but when. Meanwhile, the screen name “Lobster” appeared before her eyes. Yes! It’s must be him! After a long courtship, Brigit decided to seduce his interest with a San Francisco dream vacation. It worked! Except there was one minor detail. He didn’t have red hair! Ahhhh… the woes of love. Yet with Brigit’s determination and faith in Lobster’s name and recessive genes, she decided she would settle instead on redheaded children! Always a forward thinker!

I loved Brigit as soon as I met her, won by her free spirited charisma and confidence in what she wanted from her wedding while being relaxed about it all the same. Ian won me with his gentle nature, warmth and subtle humor. But my bet was really on their future success as soon as I saw their wedding shoes!

San Francisco Dream ~ Sunrise on Maiden Lane

It pays to be ready by 8 am on your wedding day. Especially for a photo shoot on Maiden Lane in downtown San Francisco. The most European city in the United States was waking up while Carlos and Akemo prepared to devote their love to each other for the rest of their lives. The sun rose casting long deep shadows across empty streets while vendors rolled up their doors. It was just us – the photogs plus couple, the loading trucks and a pair of balloons! Thanks to photographer Ariana Cosmos, I loved shooting with her!
